WASHINGTON, DC - Today, Congressman Henry Brown and his colleagues in the House and Senate were joined by hundreds of Iraq War Veterans and their Blue and Gold Star families at a ‘Vets for Freedom’ rally to support our mission in Iraq and Afghanistan. On the heels of the positive testimony given last week by General David Petreaus, members of Congress came together to show their support for the troops who are making progress in Iraq and Afghanistan. Among those in attendance were Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator Lindsey Graham.
Following the event, Congressman Brown gave the following statement:
“It was an honor to stand with my colleagues in a show of support for our brave men and women who are serving at home and overseas. Our country is forever indebted to those who volunteer for the armed services, and we will never forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
I was extremely proud to speak with so many veterans as well as their Blue and Gold Star families, who know all too well the high price of protecting this great nation. We must never forget their brave sons and daughters and we must honor them by standing up for what is right.”
