Congressman Brown Praises ASCEND's 'Chemo Duck' Program

Washington, Mar 14 -  Today, Congressman Henry E. Brown, Jr. (R-SC) made the following statement on the kick-off of the ASCEND Foundation’s Chemo Duck program at the Medical University of South Carolina.

“We have often heard that ‘appearances can be quite deceiving.’ That simple phrase was never more appropriate than today, when we consider this innocent-looking little duck. A soft, cuddly toy that can work wonders in comforting a child about to face unfamiliar surroundings and medical procedures also carries a powerful message for adults who are confronted with the frightening specter of cancer.

As an ardent supporter of the ASCEND Foundation and the Medical University of South Carolina, I applaud your decision to utilize this educational tool as a means of bringing much-needed attention to the fight against cancer.”
